So this week I've been working on writing a mini, SQL-ish database solution for Homestead. It'll be used to store both game and player data, and currently the farm field can handle plots with varying qualities, water levels, sun levels, empty or tilled or planted states, and growth over time. What better way to show it off than with the first bumper crop!
Three tools are implemented so far-- the Hoe, the Seed Bag, and the Watering Can. They interact logically with the plots, meaning you can use the Hoe on blank plots or seeded plots, you can seed only tilled plots, and you can water anything up to three times!
A good amount of tomatoes-- a few got extra water so they matured early!

Here they are fully grown-- the different shades of soil indicate different levels of soil quality.

And another shot of the full field. The plots are tinted blue when they receive water.

Finally, here are the growth stages! Blank, Tilled, Seeded, Sprout, Juvenile, and Mature. There is also regrowth and ripening functionality, but that won't be fully implemented until I have an inventory system going.

See you next week!
